When we say the line to get into this was AROUND THE CORNER AND UP THE BLOCK we mean it, grr. Nonetheless we had a lot of fun elsewhere that night. We WILL NOT miss The Roots Crew in concert this spring though...

Very Interesting story:
Julio Diaz has a daily routine. Every night, the 31-year-old social worker ends his hour-long subway commute to the Bronx one stop early, just so he can eat at his favorite diner.
But one night last month, as Diaz stepped off the No. 6 train and onto a nearly empty platform, his evening took an unexpected turn.
He was walking toward the stairs when a teenage boy approached and pulled out a knife.
"He wants my money, so I just gave him my wallet and told him, 'Here you go,'" Diaz says.
As the teen began to walk away, Diaz told him, "Hey, wait a minute. You forgot something. If you're going to be robbing people for the rest of the night, you might as well take my coat to keep you warm."
The would-be robber looked at his would-be victim, "like what's going on here?" Diaz says. "He asked me, 'Why are you doing this?'"
Diaz replied: "If you're willing to risk your freedom for a few dollars, then I guess you must really need the money. I mean, all I wanted to do was get dinner and if you really want to join me ... hey, you're more than welcome.
"You know, I just felt maybe he really needs help," Diaz says.
Diaz says he and the teen went into the diner and sat in a booth.
"The manager comes by, the dishwashers come by, the waiters come by to say hi," Diaz says. "The kid was like, 'You know everybody here. Do you own this place?'"
"No, I just eat here a lot," Diaz says he told the teen. "He says, 'But you're even nice to the dishwasher.'"
Diaz replied, "Well, haven't you been taught you should be nice to everybody?"
"Yea, but I didn't think people actually behaved that way," the teen said.
Diaz asked him what he wanted out of life. "He just had almost a sad face," Diaz says.
The teen couldn't answer Diaz — or he didn't want to.
When the bill arrived, Diaz told the teen, "Look, I guess you're going to have to pay for this bill 'cause you have my money and I can't pay for this. So if you give me my wallet back, I'll gladly treat you."
The teen "didn't even think about it" and returned the wallet, Diaz says. "I gave him $20 ... I figure maybe it'll help him. I don't know."
Diaz says he asked for something in return — the teen's knife — "and he gave it to me."
Afterward, when Diaz told his mother what happened, she said, "You're the type of kid that if someone asked you for the time, you gave them your watch."
"I figure, you know, if you treat people right, you can only hope that they treat you right. It's as simple as it gets in this complicated world."

Referred to as the "Crackberry" or "Blackbeezy" in various 'hoods throughout America, the Blackberry has been a hip staple in all things cutting edge. Then along came Mr. iPhone. However Blackberry and RIM, the phones' developer, have returned to claim their place in the cellular and multimedia phone battlefield. Enter the Crack, uh excuse us, the Blackberry 9000.
The first thing that stood out to us was how seamlessly the phone's lines flow. The previous models all sport a somewhat cartoonish user interface and icon detail. Here we get a more modern wireframe icon detail and more screen to keyboard ratio generously offered over previous models of the 8300's and 8700's. A major plus is the inclusion of WiFi capability, which is a must for our Entrepreneurial Thinkers on the go.

Our real life ones weren't the best, aha! Goodies from this mornings emails.
Here are the latest threads from brand Public School that we ever so faithfully put you guys on to. They're making the grade.
First up is the Baldwin Jacket:
Also seen here in a maroon:
"This Baldwin Jacket is a key piece in the collection. In a unique olive green shade, this perforated leather jacket is part classic bomber and part utilitarian chic. Brass tone hardware and bungee cord detail at the collar combine old school and new school, while snap flap chest pockets and epaulets provide the finishing touches."
Next up we have the Porter Woven Shirt:
"This is the Porter Woven Shirt. Expressing a slim fit and sturdy structure, this cotton shirt consists of chunky opaque button closures. Military detailing resides in the epaulets and button flap pockets. So you can get a little dressed up while still maintaining your street gulliness."
Lastly we have the Chieftan Jacket:
The detail on this jacket is super siiiiick!
"This pullover Chieftan Jacket unites '80s street inspiration with contemporary functionality. In a sheeny black, this lightweight layer features gunmetal zipper detail, a chain zipper chest pocket and tonal leather trim. The quilted bib is punctuated with snap closures, and ribbed knit finishes the hem and cuffs."
Bottom line ladies and gentlemen, brand Public School is slapping them, slapping them in the head this season. We cannot wait to update you guys on what's further in store. Stay tuned! Class is now in session.

Listen Here. Jay-Z - Aint I.
Timbo and Jay are usually without a doubt great on the collabo tip, however this one is wishy washy in our honest opinion. Something is just becoming more and more mechanical about Hov's patterns...hope you're not outgrowing him. :\
Regardless, new music from Beyonce's boo.
Listen Here. The Roots ft. Wale & Chrisette Michele - Rising Up.
This is supposedly the official single off of the roots' upcoming effort titled Rising Down, instead of the previous released single "Birthday Girl". You can check out the post about Birthday Girl and the unofficial video for it Here. (Yes, the one with the cocaine laced basement party.)
So "official" this and "unofficial" that now adays. This is an interesting '08, stay with us!
"We bout to dominate the globe like oprah did it, so let's go!" - Black Thought
Well it seems that 50 is really focused on bringing out more quality G-Unit projects, at least that's what we got from the way he spoke about creating those "monsters". It's pretty evident that Ferrari F-50 will not stop anytime soon, you need him...
Listen Here. Lil Wayne - A Milli (Full Version).
Here's the full version of Young Moola's song A Milli from the Carter 3. This version doesn't feature Corey Gunz as this version Here did. Why the switch? We're not certain but we never understood where Corey fit into the picture anyway. Well, not like you have to with Wayne...but still.

If you remember Here we put you on to the latest pack available from Nike. Now we present to you the footwear to accompany the threads. Don't sleep, this is a great pack for this spring and those Air Max 95's are a good look.
You can pick up your favorite artist's rendition especially at Goliath RF in New York.
Goliath RF is Located at:
175 E 105th Street

Listen Here. Beyonce - Beautiful Nightmare.
New joint from Sean's boo that just hit Al Gore's Internet. We don't know if this was left over material from her last platinum effort B-Day or a track from her upcoming, for now untitled album. Nonetheless it's new music and it's worth the listen.
Another collaborative effort in the electronics department for "2008 The Year Of The Collaboration":
Like the other pair, this phone doesn’t include 3G technology, nor is it Wi-Fi enabled as the iPhone is. Its feature set is pitched at a mid-tier Samsung Ultra level, squeezing a three-megapixel camera into its slim aluminium and stainless steel frame and packing in music player and video functionality alongside a familiar spread of features.
The Armani phone - aka the Samsung SGH-P520 - is a slim, neat and tidy design, and with a footprint of 87.5 x 10.5 x 54.5mm and 85g weight, will slip smoothly into any pocket or purse. Based on Samsung’s touch-operated Croix user interface, the phone’s front is dominated by its large 2.6in, 262,144-colour, 240 x 320 display, with just tiny call and end keys popping up on the bottom of the face.
We're going to hold on to our cash for this release. Nothing here screams "Buy Me Now" in addition to the non 3G tech specs and the absence of WI-fI...
iPhone 2 anyone?

Damn, they did her dirty.
"Remy was not found guilty of gang assault and witness tampering, among the nine total charges she faced. We’re told the victim’s friends and family taunted Remy when the verdicts were read."
Homegirl is looking at a nice lil' sentencing. We guess that they're just going to recycle shyne's cell and label it "The Booth". But yo, on the real you shouldn't go around clappin' people. Especially when you got a young son at home.

Apparently the owner of the sample used in one of Kanye's biggest singles off of his albuim Graduation isn't too pleased with his lack of royalties.
"In a rambling lawsuit filed in Maryland District Court, Dayna Staggs (aka DMystro) is suing Kanye — and his record label, Roc-a-Fella — for copyright infringement. Staggs says that West "didn’t obtain a license to use ‘Volume of Good Life’" for his tune, and points out that Kanye was "only at the age of 6 or 7 years of age [sic]" when his song was written."
The report went on to say that D'Mystro was unpleased with how Kanye may have damaged his good reputaion with lyrics contained within the song Good Life. In addition to all this, DMystro has Kanye listed in his top friends on his Myspace Page and has the only video of Good Life on the net, on the page...
Kanye's lyrics in the Good Life song are pretty soft so we don't see how that's damaging anyones reputation. DMystro lists in his bio that he has performed with a number of artists from the Roc-A-Fella camp and he didn't seem to care back then about being seen in or around venues with their lyrics...come on.

Artist David Garibaldi is amazing at what he does. He created that piece under the pressure and observation of a live audience and didn't even break a sweat! He has exposure and recognition in the game as well. Check him out and look out for more insane pieces by David in the near future. Definitely Abstract.
You can purchase some pieces from his collection Here. David Garibaldi online shop.
Listen Here. Joe Budden - Touch And Go.
New Joint from Mr. Jumpoff. This is the CDQ version. An earlier rough version was released last week, but we knew that you guys wouldn't have wanted that. Enjoy.

More Easter treats.
Listen Here. Lil Wanye - I.
Here is a new Lil' Weezy track that just hit the netwaves. Rumored to be a pre Carter II track featured on the upcoming mixtape The Drought 5: Grand Closing Weezy has seriously made a mixtape stir in the last year and a half with his ubiquitous cover appearances and almost a new verse everytime he has guested on an artist's track. Gotta give the man his respect whether you want to or not...
Listen Here. Mavado Feat. Joell Ortiz - Last Night (Remix)
Mavado collaborating with more American artists on the music tip. This joint is OK, coming off of the Mavado x Jay-Z joint we're telling you, Mavado is on his A game for '08. You Ready? Anywaay!

More collaborations for this year. Casio G-Shock x Nismo 25th Anniversary watch inspired by the Nissan 350z. This watch is exclusively limited to taiwan so orders must be shipped from overseas. Very sleek and aesthetically intuitive design, a must have.
More info Here.
...Then I'm coming back with like, literally 50 of my homeboys.
Just watch the video. Things like this happen 24 hours a day 7 days a week out there. Amazing, simply amazing.
*Kind of reminds us of the music industry. See if you can identify; The artists/fans, the record labels/companies, and lastly all the other sneaky or greasy people out there trying to capitalize. Interesting.
Dopppppeeee. Very Abstract, Mr. West has allowed these compilation-esque videos to be uploaded to the internets for your viewing pleasure. This experience was held in New York last summer where Kanye and his visual editor Derrick showcased chopped animation and film to express the ideas in Yeezy's music also accompanied by a light show. Ye' proclaimed that he is the Steve Jobs of the music industry and will be releasing the rest of the videos in a short while to string out the "goods". Stay tuned, we'll have it first!
Listen Here. Big Boi ft. Andre 3000 & Raekwon - Royal Flush (CDQ)
Here is the better CD Quality MP3 that we promised. Once again this song is very dope. Spring music, gotta love it!
