Do You Think Jay Is The "Tallest" In The Game???...

Young Hov covers Ol' XXL Magazine for their inaugural Fall issue.

Jay gives a little insight as to what he think about this claim:

" 'But when I say I’m the best, I don’t say that outta my ass. I say that with all my stats behind me. I put that against anybody. I mean anybody. I really believe that… I believe in a lot of things.
I believe that ‘SportsCenter’ is the best thing on TV. I shouldn’t have to prove it. But I do have these stats to prove it. I’m talking about real run. I’m not talking about years off. I’m talking about straight—boom, boom, boom—back to back. We’re not talking about heritage acts either. We’re not talking about respect what I’ve done. I’m talking No. 1 [albums] 10 times. The Beatles is the only one [to have more
No. 1 albums]. They got 19, and if I get a surge of creativity, I could make nine albums next year.' "

New Music: Mista Mista - Let It Out Prod. By Tecknowledgy...

Listen/ Download Here. Mista Mista - Let It Out Prod. By Tecknowledgy

Found this litte gem while sifting through the artists submissions in the daily emails.

Here's what Mista Mista says:

" Good day people, in preparation for the Styles P show later tomorrow evening I came across a record I did for producer Tecknowledgy and figured why not share it to the world. I haven't leaked a record since "Heartbeat"... I've been working extremely hard at putting together the best possible album (No Greater Love) and I'm nearing completion... Until then enjoy this joint. "

Enjoy.

Video: Jay-Z Feat. Kanye West & Rihanna - Run This Town...

This video leaked because honestly it HAD to be released wherever it is a day ahead of where you currently are. Got it?

This dark and subtle undertone of rebelling and claiming the throne to his independence as a stand alone hip-hop mogul is definitely one to watch.

Even Rihanna throws the Roc sign with loyalty and fervor.

* Kanye's verse > Jay. If and What do you think?

Video: Lupe Pops Out Of The Shadows For A Second...

Wasalu takes a moment to turn off his invisibility belt handed to him by the great Jedis to speak about the importance of lyrics.

This guy has been a ghost. Shunning guest features everywhere.

What Lupe explains here is very true. The ability to capture one's ear with meaningful lyricism is key to longevity. This goes for minor to major artists alike. Rather than feeding the masses every so often, allow their integrity to realize the value of your work.

Respect the listener's ability to understand and digest.

Video: "50's [Cent] Bigger Than Life, Man"...

Classic Yayo. Still hood.

In reference to Curtis having talks with the Mayor Yayo says:

" 'The mayor was saying he spoke to 50 and he agreed that it wouldn’t be a performance. Yo, I can’t get at the mayor. I don’t even wanna say anything bad about him — I don’t wanna get pulled over when I leave from outta here! But 50’s big, 50s bigger than life. Rumor is he spent over half a million dollars on this.”

“I know he has over 30 busses for Great Adventure on the 29th. To me, it’s a positive thing — it’s giving back. Just like how they did Baisley Park,” Yayo said, referring to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson Community Garden, which 50 dedicated late last year. “Shout out to Preme, I know he in the Feds throwing up. He bought your park. When you got money, you can do whatever you wanna do.'

Video: Jay-Z Feat. Kanye West & Rihanna - Run This Town [Behind The Scenes]...

Director Anthony Mandler describes the video as rebellious:

" 'I wanted something that didn’t fit into ‘this is New York, this is a building or a street [you know],’ ” he explained to MTV News. “I wanted it to feel more ancient. I wanted it to feel more European but on American soil. I didn’t want it to have a framework, like, ‘Oh, we’re riding in New York.’ "

Run this town officially gives us a sense of what post American Gangster Jay is trying to do with his aesthetic.

Video: The King Of Hip-Hop Salutes The King Of Pop...

Footage of Jay-Z paying homage to the late great Mike Jackson at All Points West where Hov was headlining.\

Previous Post: Jay-Z Reveals Blueprint 3 Artwork + Tracklist...

Here Hov explains the BP3 Album Artwork:

" “These things are like the forgotten pieces in hip-hop,” Hov explained. “It’s still about music. It’s not about radio, making gimmicks — it’s still about making music. Those things are piled in the corner. These are the forgotten things about music. It’s still about music. It’s not about radio, it’s not about making gimmicks, it’s about music. The three stripes that everybody is asking about is made from the original [number] three. The first three they made on the wall was someone carving. If you look at [the number] 3, all they did was connect lines. The whole thing about this album, how I approached it, is that I wanted to make a new classic to start that all over again — to go back to making classic albums like the ones we grew up listening to.” "

Kid CuDi Speaks On His Complex Accomplishments...

*Bonus behind the scenes footage below.

For the August/September release of Complex Magazine. CuDi is really getting a push and with just due. With features on Jay's album and being Kanye's muse of sorts, CuDi will somehow prove that he has the staying power that many says he lacks.

Here's an excerpt from DP of ThatNewCudi:

" As I mentioned previously I had some time to interview Cudi while in Seattle, here’s the 2nd half of that interview. Last week I posted a bit of our interview in which he discusses his fans, so make sure to watch that if you haven’t yet.

The second thing we talked about was his Complex Magazine cover and interview. I asked him to explain why he was so honest for the article and what it meant to him grace the cover of Complex. By now many of you have read this article and seen the cover so this will give you a look into how it all went down.

“I looked at this as my first opportunity to reach the masses threw an interview. So if I’m going to say something important this was my time, anything I can’t say in records I should be able to say right now”
"

Jay-Z reveals Blueprint Three Cover + Tracklist...

Ok, ok...so as you all have probably heard Jay's Blueprint 3 is dropping this Sept. on the bornday of his last masterpiece (arguably). Here is the supposed track listing:

1. What We Talking About (Produced by Kanye West)
2. D.O.A. (Produced by No I.D.)
3. Weigh Me Down Feat. Kid Cudi (Produced by Kanye West)
4. Unforgiven (Produced by Kanye West, Additional Production: MGMT)
5. Run This Town Feat. Rihanna & Kanye West (Produced by Kanye West)
6. Empire State Of Mind Feat. Nas (Produced by Kanye West & No I.D.)
7. When It Comes To This (Produced by Timbaland)
8. Always Feat. Drake (Produced by Kanye West)
9. Scenes From The Past (Produced by No I.D., Co-produced by Kanye West)
10. Everyday A Star Is Born Feat. Mr. Hudson (Produced by Kanye West)
11. Already Home (Produced by Kanye West)
12. Forever Young Feat. Mr. Hudson (Produced by Kanye West)
13. Thank You (Produced by No I.D.)

*Empire State Of Mind..... featuring Nasir??? That has to live up to a lot. The whole project seems that its more or less completely produced and worked by Mr. West, that is a huge plus...however we know in our hearts that Jay has said many times in the past that there are a bevy of producers that he wishes to work with before he "gracefully bows out". With that said we wonder what direction he will take upon his next effort.

Stay tuned.
