The Bad Life, Kanye Gets Sued...

Apparently the owner of the sample used in one of Kanye's biggest singles off of his albuim Graduation isn't too pleased with his lack of royalties.

"In a rambling lawsuit filed in Maryland District Court, Dayna Staggs (aka DMystro) is suing Kanye — and his record label, Roc-a-Fella — for copyright infringement. Staggs says that West "didn’t obtain a license to use ‘Volume of Good Life’" for his tune, and points out that Kanye was "only at the age of 6 or 7 years of age [sic]" when his song was written."

The report went on to say that D'Mystro was unpleased with how Kanye may have damaged his good reputaion with lyrics contained within the song Good Life. In addition to all this, DMystro has Kanye listed in his top friends on his Myspace Page and has the only video of Good Life on the net, on the page...

Kanye's lyrics in the Good Life song are pretty soft so we don't see how that's damaging anyones reputation. DMystro lists in his bio that he has performed with a number of artists from the Roc-A-Fella camp and he didn't seem to care back then about being seen in or around venues with their lyrics...come on.
