Lifestyle: Hi-Jynx Announces Name Change...

In a move that possibly shocked listeners as well as cemented his growing fanbase in watching him move, Queens Lyricist Hi-Jynx announced via his Hip-Hop Fiend guest blog that he has changed his name.

Honestly, in an era where most artist have gimmicky stage monikers we see that this development may be strengthening as well as upwardly mobile for the Southside Jamaica laureate.

We're excited!

We previously posted what we believe to now be "Hi-Jynx's" last effort. It's a very well put together stream of thought type release from the Emcee. Very prolific, to say the least:

Hi-Jynx says:

"My previous effort “Music Monday” was an exhibition effort. This effort, “Your Love: Smells Like Money”, is a step in the direction of more coherent records. Together they are themed and individually they stand out from what I’ve done in the past. I have a snippet of a record on the project that’s floating around now and the response has been crazy. Its heavily geared towards females without diving into R&B territory, I believe that gives listeners something to anticipate because its rarely done by a hip-hop artist these days."

With the recent success of his Summer singles "Paradise" & the Half Amazin' produced "Like a Kid Again" off of the upcoming effort Hi-Jynx Presents: Your Love: Smells Like Money, Southside Jamaica Queens Hip-Hop artist Hi-Jynx takes the time out to borrow G.O.O.D Music recording artist Big Sean's "High Rise" beat and deliver a raw freeverse doing what he does best. Expressing that high energy flavor that you'd expect him to deliver.

A few words from Hi-Jynx:

This is Our Summer. The feeling of warmth throughout the Summer's wind. The details of Our Emotions when pursuing the interest of Our Affection. Knowing that there will be a way to jot it all down and be able to find it later. We bask in Our Paradise and enjoy evenings Like a Kid Again.

Hi-Jynx Presents: "Your Love: Smells Like Money" is an artistic compilation chronicling the beautiful, as well as passionate, emotion of your Summer days & nights.

To be released in North America, Canada and Europe for FREE digital download late Summer.

WOW! All we can say is that THIS is the anthem for all the Summer nights we dreamed about that girl next door! Between this record and the previous record, Paradise, we don't know which one to choose! We'll take them BOTH!

Very great preview of a strong sounding record. Can't wait to hear the project in its entirety.

Video: GTDS Presents "Sunday At The Dojo"...

" While out in N.Y. for my mans Hi-Jynx “Doubt” video shoot, I was entered into a Ski Beatz sponsored Beat Battle at the last minute (Shouts to Tony Billz), while I can’t release that footage, I got a dope cosign and put together some quick shots of some of the music (from 24 Hour Karate School) and people at DD172 and The Dojo.

I’ll up Part 2 with the footage from the Hi-Jynx video shoot a little later. "

One of our affiliate sites GiveTheDrummaSome.com posts footage of his travels to NYC from CT to compete in a beat battle sponsored by veteran producer Ski Beatz. While he doesnt give away too much (We guess he's saving it for the anticipated Part Two) he does provide some clever editing in the process.

Enjoy!

Brand Shortypop, now defunct, released their last product which features Miss Piggy in all her splendor. We stated earlier the tee was to commemorate, in playful jest, the rendering of Brand Supreme's Kermit Shirt with photographer Terry Richardson.

Get them while they are still floating around, as these are surely a collector's item.

This record couldn't come at a greater time! With all the hype surrounding the release of the Air Jordan XI "Space Jam" model, these two artists go in visually about their life surrounding such material items and the nostalgia.

Very abstract and brilliantly executed!

Hi-Jynx and Chicago based artist G.o.D Jewels give you images of what they remember being the "it" items of their early childhood and what atmosphere came with obtaining and the journey to possess these staples of our past

A word from the Artist:

"Thank You for following the Leaks and other bonus material throughout the twists and turns of this Mixtape's release.

My main focus on this project was to pay homage to the true art of being an Emcee and that's to be able to tackle any beat, record or concept all in the name of good music! This is only a small example of what to expect in the time to come.

I appreciate everyone who rocks with me and I got yall to the fullest! Dope! Steady, To The Top! - Hi Jynx"

" This is the first of a series of Records that DID NOT make the cut for the Tape.

I'm sharing this with you as a bonus, mid-mixed and close to raw vocals to further authenticity.

A note about "Kid Robot"...: The effects of Domestic Violence are far reaching and very serious. This is a topic that hits close to home and should be taken seriously and dealt with in the proper manner. If you know anyone who is experiencing these conditions, get help from the nearest authorities possible.

This aint no afterschool special though... "
