With the recent success of his Summer singles "Paradise" & the Half Amazin' produced "Like a Kid Again" off of the upcoming effort Hi-Jynx Presents: Your Love: Smells Like Money, Southside Jamaica Queens Hip-Hop artist Hi-Jynx takes the time out to borrow G.O.O.D Music recording artist Big Sean's "High Rise" beat and deliver a raw freeverse doing what he does best. Expressing that high energy flavor that you'd expect him to deliver.
Liberated from our email dungeon just a few minutes ago. We remember out first Yc the Cynic post like it was yesterday. Kudos to the young Bronx, NYC native.
Off of the Empire State Mixtape brought to you by the good folks Shake & Meka over at 2 Dope land.
While you're at it grab another short, but sweet, treat from YC.
This is Our Summer. The feeling of warmth throughout the Summer's wind. The details of Our Emotions when pursuing the interest of Our Affection. Knowing that there will be a way to jot it all down and be able to find it later. We bask in Our Paradise and enjoy evenings Like a Kid Again.
Hi-Jynx Presents: "Your Love: Smells Like Money" is an artistic compilation chronicling the beautiful, as well as passionate, emotion of your Summer days & nights.
To be released in North America, Canada and Europe for FREE digital download late Summer.
WOW! All we can say is that THIS is the anthem for all the Summer nights we dreamed about that girl next door! Between this record and the previous record, Paradise, we don't know which one to choose! We'll take them BOTH!
Very great preview of a strong sounding record. Can't wait to hear the project in its entirety.
If you're asking who Pro BMX rider Nigel Sylvester is then you possibly haven't had your hands on some freestyle handle bars in the past half a decade.
Media maven Jabari sits down with Nigel in an interview where the two discuss the roots that make freestyle BMX'ing strong as well as Nigels humble upbringing.
We have been working so hard on this documentary series over the past few months and I am proud to announce that it is finally here! I know I am known for interviewing musicians and entertainers but I wanted to kick off the first season of Jabari Presents with something a little different.
I went to Queens, NY to speak to pro-bmx biker, Nigel Sylvester, who at just 22 has become an international face for the sport of BMX and is sponsored by companies like Nike, Gatorade, and Animal. Watch as Nigel speaks about how he started, almost quitting, and what he wants to do to take BMX to the next level (he even teaches me how to do a trick!).
I hope you enjoy, thank you for your continued support!
We are late on this video, as we've been away for so...so long, and one thing we can say is endorsements...ENDORSEMENTS are needed!
No but in all actuality the man is expressing his affinity for the footwear. Clarks are to Jamaicans what white on white Air Force 1's are to the hood in the Summer.
In a great attempt to showcase new and developing talent on the underground scene, the "Secret Society" has bestowed upon us a great innovative concert in the form of verses over a nice mellow instrmental provided by one of our new favorite beatsmiths Keen-Y.
The EP sees a range of styles and deliveries from talent that we have never heard of but if they prove worthy we will feature, as that is our duty to you and your diverse iPod/iTunes playlists.

It seems that apparently Ski Beatz will give two lucky up and coming production specialists the chance to shine to the world by flipping a sample of his choosing.
The show will then hopefully go on to explain in more details the prize, as well as, any other scenarios the minds at the happiest place on earth, DD172 AKA "The Dojo", can come up with.
This is REALLY great idea, considering this may be the very same way a young Kanye West got his first shot at a humble record label so many years ago.
What more can we say? Brought to you by the good people of 4:00 a.m. and Estevan Oriol.
Enjoy.
" About TITS – TITS Brand (Two in the Shirt) was created and launched by Marek Grubel in August 2006. Based in Seattle, WA, Two In The Shirt is a company with a focus on bringing tastefully provocative clothing to the forefront of fashion. The name 'Two In the Shirt' is derived from the acronym T.I.T.S., which is quite fitting considering the nature of the clothing itself. T.I.T.S. merchandise consists of men and women's apparel that showcases classy prints of nude or nearly nude women. "Like a training bra, support T.I.T.S." "

" While out in N.Y. for my mans Hi-Jynx “Doubt” video shoot, I was entered into a Ski Beatz sponsored Beat Battle at the last minute (Shouts to Tony Billz), while I can’t release that footage, I got a dope cosign and put together some quick shots of some of the music (from 24 Hour Karate School) and people at DD172 and The Dojo.
I’ll up Part 2 with the footage from the Hi-Jynx video shoot a little later. "
One of our affiliate sites GiveTheDrummaSome.com posts footage of his travels to NYC from CT to compete in a beat battle sponsored by veteran producer Ski Beatz. While he doesnt give away too much (We guess he's saving it for the anticipated Part Two) he does provide some clever editing in the process.
Brand Shortypop, now defunct, released their last product which features Miss Piggy in all her splendor. We stated earlier the tee was to commemorate, in playful jest, the rendering of Brand Supreme's Kermit Shirt with photographer Terry Richardson.
Get them while they are still floating around, as these are surely a collector's item.
Producer Keen-¥ offers another installment in his beat tape full course meal with his effort Without Identity. Obviously you're asking yourself who is Keen-¥ and why should you give him a listen out of any of the 100,000 + "Beat Makers" floating around the internet these days?
All we can simply say in response is...don't say that we didnt introduce you to your new love at the wedding reception...music wise that is.

" Today, I have very somber news for the international hip hop community, especially fans of the independent hip hop scene, and those who have followed my career.
It has been announced that Jun Seba, aka Nujabes, Japanese hip hop producer extraordinaire, passed away late February. Official statement from the label (in Japanese) here: http://hydeout.net/hydeout/2010/03/_hydeoutproductions.html
We deeply regret the loss of a unique talent and a close friend. Through his soulful music, Nujabes has touched so many people around the world, even beyond his dreams. He was a mysterious character to most as he avoided the public limelight, rarely conducted interviews, so only a few got to know the man behind the signature production. Yet it continued to amaze me how young listeners of all backgrounds learned of his enigmatic name, and expressed support for his music.
As I write now from Japan, I had been leaving him messages the past couple of weeks, trying to get in the studio together, so the news could not have come any more unexpected. Even last week, I passed by his house and called him thinking he was still home.
I met Nujabes around 2000 and as an upcoming MC, I was fortunate to work on tracks such as Battlecry, F.I.L.O, Luv(sic) parts 1, 2 and 3. We had been working on the next trilogy of Luv(sic) over the past year (which we're determined to see through). The last time we talked in January, Nujabes emailed me to wish Jeff Resurreccion, a 19-year old beatboxer who had just passed way from cancer, his heartfelt condolences.
While we continue to respect the privacy of his family, we will work to preserve his legacy, and pay tribute to the body of work, some unreleased, that he has left for us to enjoy. Jun Seba will be dearly missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and fans worldwide.
" Peace party people, Today is 3/2/10...which is rare....Anyways today I've decided to release my 1st official joint of my next project "Square One (My Radio)" The song is called "Believe" produced by yours truly...I hope you guys/gals enjoy it...I also finished the cover...Still don't have a date for when i'm dropping the project...So stay tuned....much luv "
We look forward to Mic's future release as we have posted on his past endeavors. The fact that he captures a great, smooth, transitionable essence of the New York Hip-Hop scene has definitely been one of the main reasons for us pushing and playing his records over the past year or so.
Very Abstract.
With that said, keep up with Mic (Formerly PreZZure) At his many internet digs:
" Hosted by Sosa Management & Diff'rent World, Tuesday, February 23 will be the official release and listening party for Rhyme & Noodles: NO ARTIFICIAL Flavoring Vol. 1, and you're invited! This has been the recent effort put out by one Christopher Lloyd of the Gorilla-Unit camp.
We must say that although many have argued and disputed that Banks' time has come and gone, he remains able to bring the heat with records like this that leave your head nodding. The replay ability on this track is impressive in addition to the superb performance that Juelz Santana gives as a guest.
Bravo! We'd love to see how this travels throughout the scene.

Brand Shortypop is at it once again with their clever guerilla tactics in defining the aesthetic when it comes to smartening you up to what you perceive as "Dope".
Here the folks at Shortypop give us the missing link, so to speak, regarding the other half of the Supreme x Kermit The Frog collaboration of the previous decade.
Together at last
There's not much we can say to sum up their latest effort that isn't short of genius! We definitely peep game and you should too.
For the full effect check out their online shop and turn your speakers up for a brief exchange of words between Kermit himself and...Cam'ron.
Yeah.

We can remember the first post that we did on YC like it was yesterday (It was actually about two years ago). It's nice to know that lyricism is not a dying artform as represented by the young Bronx, New York artist. He definitely does not disappoint and continues to deliver this special element that keeps us listening to his poetic prose from beginning to end.
Here he is accopanied by fellow New York emcee Final Outlaw as well as a newcomer to us, D. Julien.
Coming up, in addition to what you've been brainwa... er, conditio...ummm..accustomed to liking we've mixed it up with a bit of audio that you may or may not have heard before.
Cynical, we know.
Direct from the artist:
" Starting The Year Of Right!!!
With My Birthday coming up at the end of January (I'll Be Legal Like a regal lol), I've been doing alot of thinking about life, Music, & where it's going for a while now... The Exhibit A (Open Letter To NYC) is something Like All My emotions since I been Back N Forth From Pittsburgh, New York City,(Bronx to be exact) & Canada...
Shouts To Jay Electronica & Mickey Factz definitely made me take some time off working on The Tape To vent off...lol
If you don't take anything from it musically just know that all of the words in this piece have either happened or is going to (trust Me folks) , & This isn't even Crosbyfication... Crosbyfication will be the Best work of music for any one who's competing. If you enjoy art... Imma Gain some fans.... word. "
-Cashtro Crosby
Cashtro's Crosbyfication release date is still pending.
That choice of a title is interesting enough to make us want to listen, to say the least.
Here we happened across a cut from Kalae All Day that gave us that good old feeling of her "turn" in a rap cypher.
We could see it all now, Kalae steps in, spits her piece and gains props from all the fellas in the circle who thought she wasn't going to come and represent for the ladies in the underground hip-hop scene!
..Any cut that can create an instant visual gets a few back to back spins from us.
*Also check out Kalae's interview with FatBoyRadio:
Part 1:
Part 2:
Dope, get to know her a bit. In Part 3 Kalae spits a not so "freestyle" as labeled but showcases her talent as devout rhymesayer nonetheless! Props.
Part 3:
Keep up with Kalae as she has many upcoming shows around the city that we are sure are going be very entertaining as well as eclectic. Hopefully we can attend a few.
This record has to be one of the most introspective and critical from the Brooklyn, New York producer/emcee. Here he tackles a topic as mirror turning as the one on Wasted Talent.
Going through the daily emails we happened across a very htought provoking record from Kil Ripkin. Our knowledge is limited on this artist. With that said that's exactly why this site does what it does. It's to spread the forward entrepreneurial element on discovering new, tasteful sound and talent.
Introducing Kil Ripkin. Backed by Torae as his A&R and numerous posts around the internet, he may or may not be something to keep our eyes on. Let's let this one flourish into something organically.
YC The Cynic definitely caught our eyes, as well as our ears, with this. We've had the chance to see this record performed live and by far the most prolific call and response record of the new emerging New York sound.
Great Job YC, always a pleasure to see your record blasts swinging through our email for features.
YC has a project releasing this month tentatively presented by Chaundon of the Justus Leauge. That's a really big step in the right direction for the young, Bronx New York emcee.
Awesome, now we can honestly see how the "Big Corp" is cashing in on the underground artists appeal here.
We have to tip our hats to Dollar Van Demos for the connect hustle but to the artists here...maybe any exposure isn't worth jumping at too quickly. McDonalds has a history of making minorities and "urban areas" typecast in their mannerisms.
Don't get it twisted that African-Americans are still shucking and Jiving for "the man" in regards to cashing in a little change.
We'll think about the aesthetic of this one...
Just a heads up for certain artists, don't compromise your integrity for a check... well, if there IS one.
The email submissions have been stockpiling lately as we make the switch (hopefully) to a bigger and better site this year. Check our archives, we've been delivering post after post of quality so we're sure that you understand.
On to the record...
Artist Wize breaks down what he needs quality wise from a "Qutie Pie" here on this one.
We can't complain, this one recieved a few spins from us. Ever forward, delivering new music, from new talent.
